South Sudan Ground Rules for Humanitarian Response

In signing this agreement, all actors acknowledge the applicability of international humanitarian law and specific conventions, including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the 1977 Additional Protocol
  • Kampala Convention on Protection and Assistance to IDPs in Africa 2009
  • Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment 1984
  • Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989
  • Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women 1979
  • Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention 1997
